Thailand hosted the 1st International Conference on Vetiver in 1996 at the specific request of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand (9 June 1946 – 13 October 2016). A huge amount has been accomplished with the development of the Vetiver System since that time both in Thailand and globally.
