First Announcement
The Chairman of the Continuing Committee for International Conferences on Vetiver has announced that, due to unforeseen circumstances, the Seventh International Conference for Vetiver (ICV-7) will not be held in the Philippines in 2019 but instead will be held in Chiang Mai, Thailand, for four days in October 2020.
The ICV-7 under the theme “Vetiver for Soil and Water Conservation : In Commemoration of King Bhumibol Adulyadej” will be organized under the leadership of the Office of the Royal Development Projects Board (ORDPB) with support from the Chaipattana Foundation and the Vetiver Network International (TVNI).Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn of Thailand, Patron of the Vetiver Network International, will participate in the conference and will award the King of Thailand Vetiver Awards. Future announcements will be made as plans develop. These plans will include: final conference dates for October 2020; conference program and details, schedules, registration information, and invitation to present papers; and details and categories relating to the King of Thailand Vetiver Awards (to be presented at the conference for vetiver related research and development.)
Thailand hosted the 1st International Conference on Vetiver in 1996 at the specific request of His Majesty King Bhumibol Adulyadej of Thailand (9 June 1946 – 13 October 2016). A huge amount has been accomplished with the development of the Vetiver System since that time both in Thailand and globally.
